Yale Fan Won't Be the Only Yale at Harvard

When Yale Fan starts at Harvard in the fall, he’s not likely to go just by his first name.

He won’t be the only Yale on the Ivy League Cambridge campus.

Actually, he’ll be one four people named Yale who are somehow affiliated with the university.

Yale Michaels will be a Harvard sophomore in the fall.

When he matriculated last year, his local newspaper in Canada, the Winnipeg Sun, noted the amusing coincidence.

"The first thing everyone asks when I introduce myself is why I didn't go to Yale," Michaels told the Chronicle of Higher Education.
"So I usually say I had a dream of going to Yale, and they would get my application and see 'Yale' on it and think, 'We already know the name of this school; this kid's an idiot.' And because of that, I say I didn't even bother applying."

The most interesting days for Harvard’s Yales are when Yale plays Harvard in sports.

Michaels recalls playing in the Harvard-Yale rugby game, and then going to the rivals’ football game.

“I never had so many people cheering for me,” he told the Chronicle of Higher Ed.

And as for the other Yales, Dr. Yale Joel Berry is a clinical instructor in Otology and Laryngology who is affiliated with Harvard Medical School.

And Elizabeth Yale is a College Fellow in the History of Science.

Incidentally, a search for people named Harvard at Yale comes up with no results.
