Bob Lorenz, a television host with YES Network, has been charged with drunken driving in Westport.

Police told the Associated Press that they found the 48-year-old Westport resident slumped over the wheel of his car. When officers woke him up, Lorenz drove away slowly and nearly hit a utility pole, police said.

Officers arrested Lorenz early Wednesday morning and said his speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol.

Lorenz hosts pregame and postgame shows for the New York Yankees and New Jersey Nets.

He was arraigned Wednesday at Norwalk Superior Court.

According to court records, he was released from custody and is due back in court on Feb. 29.

There's no phone listing for Lorenz and it's not clear if he has a lawyer. A Yes Network spokesman declined to comment.
