A women spooked cops and stalled an arrest in New Haven by telling them the house was under quarantine for the dreaded swine flu, police said.
Cops went to a Dickerman Street home to arrest a 16-year-old, but that plan changed a bit when a woman in the house said the abode was under quarantine for swine flu.
So, cops took precautions and put on facemasks. Then a prisoner van arrived to escort the teen from the alleged swine-flu infested home but put the brakes on the arrest by refusing to take the teen.
There was no swine flu, or at least the house was not under quarantine, police said. The teen eventually was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
There have been 637 cases of swine flu in Connecticut, and the most serious was the case that killed a Waterbury woman.
Fairfield County has the most cases, with 359 as of Wednesday. New Haven has had 56 cases, more than any other municipality in the state.
