Man Found in Lake Wepawaug in Orange Drowned: Police

    Police are investigating after a body was found floating in Lake Wepawaug in Orange Saturday afternoon.

    The man whose body was found in Lake Wepawaug in Orange on Saturday afternoon drowned, police said, and they do not suspect foul play.

    Authorities said three young people spotted the body about 15 feet from shore in Lake Wepawaug off Grassy Hill Road, an area where people frequently fish.

    It appears that the body had been in the water for an extended period of time, and the deceased person's race could not be identified, police said.

    Orange fire officials retrieved the body. State police and Orange police are investigating, along with an investigator from the State's Attorney's Office.

    Police are continuing to investigate. Authorities have not idenitifed the man.
