One person has died after a crash on Route 8 in Winchester on Friday morning.
Police said a semi-tractor trailer was going south and a minivan was going north when the vehicles collided head-on near the Winchester Treatment plant at 6:45 a.m.
The driver of the minivan was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the vicitm as 46-year-old Yvon Michaud, of Winsted.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
There was no one other than the driver in both vehicles.
The semi-tractor trailer and minivan sustained heavy front-end damage.

The cause of the crash is not known.
Connecticut State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit was called to assist in the investigation.
