Drivers in the New Haven area had a challenging commute Thursday morning after a vehicle plunged into the Quinnipiac River along Interstate 91 in New Haven, which led to the closure of a highway ramp for hours.
Crews responded to Interstate 91 South and an exit 8 ramp was closed for hours as crews worked to get the vehicle out of the water.
New Haven Fire Department and Connecticut State Police responded and fire officials said no one was in the submerged car.
