Man Robs Waterbury Gas Station at Gunpoint

Police are searching for the man who robbed a Waterbury gas station at gunpoint late last month.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect walking into the Sunoco gas station at 1153 South Main Street just before 5 a.m. June 23. He’s clad in a black zip-up sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, dark-colored pants and a black ski mask.

Video shows the man entering the store brandishing a silver or chrome-colored handgun and pointing it at employees behind the counter.

He motions with the gun and a store clerk hands over cash. The robber pockets the bills and motions for more, according to surveillance footage from inside the store.

The video shows him running from the store and disappearing down the street. Police said he was last seen heading southbound on South Main Street.

He’s described as a white man standing 5 feet 7 inches tall.
