A central Florida woman has died after her husband accidentally shot her in the head while cleaning his gun, according to deputies in Orange County.

Katie Reid, 62, was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Mackey said the incident is being labeled as a death investigation. Darrell Reid has not been arrested or charged.

Darrell and Katie Reid founded "Happy Hill Ministries," which they ran out of their home, according to NBC affiliate WESH.

Family friend Rev. Nadine Richmond told WESH the couple were "totally in love" and "best friends for life." She said Darrell Reid would issue a statement but first needed to grieve in private.
