Alleged Heroin Dealer Busted at Simi Valley Library

Detectives said they found Bradley Bates in possession of more than six grams of heroin and more than $1,500 cash

Police in Simi Valley said they arrested a man Thursday for dealing heroin inside the public library.

Bradley Bates, a homeless man from Huntington Beach, was arrested for possession of narcotics for sale and a narcotics-related felony warrant for his arrest, according to a statement from the Simi Valley Police Department.

Detectives had been investigating complaints of drug dealing occurring inside the Simi Valley Library and found Bates with more than six grams of heroin and more than $1,500 cash.

Police said they saw Bates dealing heroin to customers inside the library and in the parking lot while posing as a library patron.

He was being held in the Ventura County Jail without bail.
