Police: Teen Beat 5-Year-Old to Death with Bowling Ball

Police have said the teen became irritated after the boy hit him multiple times

Authorities allege a 13-year-old North Texas boy facing a capital murder charge used a bowling ball to fatally beat a 5-year-old boy.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the teen has confessed to what he allegedly did.

The confession was made public during a detention hearing Friday in Fort Worth.

The teen, whose name is being withheld because he is a juvenile, was arrested Thursday in the death of Sida Osman. Because he is younger than 14, the suspect is not eligible to stand trial as an adult.

The teen's mother declined to comment after the hearing.

Sida's body was found Wednesday afternoon near his apartment, after he had been reported missing a day earlier.

Police have said the teen became irritated with Sida and hit him multiple times.
