Connecticut GOP Lures Brown's Brother

The younger brother of Senator Scott Brown ponders his political future in Connecticut

The younger brother of Massachusetts' newly elected senator Scott Brown says that Republican leaders in Connecticut are urging him to follow in his brother's footsteps and run for state office.

Bruce Brown said that GOP pols, including party leader Lawerence Cafero, were encouraging. But, Brown added, "it wouldn’t be something I’d jump into right away without doing some exploratory things."

Bruce Brown, who owns a surveillance and security company in Wolcott, Conn., has never held a public office.

The younger Brown was in Boston to celebrate his brother's stunning upset over Democrat Martha Coakley and said it was a thrilling event.

“It was exciting,” Brown said. “The atmosphere was outstanding.”

Bruce Brown said that he could see his brother Scott making a run at the White House in 2012. Bruce speculated that a Scott Brown/Mitt Romney ticket would be hard to beat.

The father of two said he was proud of the campaign his brother ran. “From a brother's standpoint, it’s probably one of the best feelings you could ever have,” Brown said.
