The U.S. Supreme Court made a landmark decision on Wednesday when the court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and two local nonprofits are celebrating with a party tonight.

“In response to today’s landmark United States Supreme Court decision that DOMA violates the Constitutional rights of LGBT Americans, Hartford non-profits Real Art Ways and True Colors have teamed up to celebrate in style!,” they said in a news release.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. at Real Art Ways, 56 Arbor Street, in Hartford.

The U.S. Supreme Court decision was 5-4. For more on the decision, see's Live SCOTUSblog.
