Vice President Joe Biden will be visiting Connecticut.
Joe Biden's coming to Connecticut and the Vice President has a couple of stops planned with Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Jim Himes.
The Veep will appear at a fundraising lunch for Himes in Greenwich, then head to Fairfield for an eventalong the Merritt Parkway with Dodd at 3 p.m.
Biden is expected to tout Dodd and Himes for bringing federal stimulus money to Connecticut, including funds for $70 million in improvements to the parkway.
Jefferson Street in Fairfield will be closed between 2:55 and 4:30 p.m. because of the visit, Fairfield police told the Danbury News Times.
The entrance and exit ramps of northbound Merritt Parkway Exit 46 will also be closed.
Himes is a freshman Congressmember. Dodd, Connecticut's senior senator, has been struggling with low poll numbers and faces a potential Democratic primary. Five Republicans have also announced plans to seek the GOP nomination.
President Obama also has a visit planned to Connecticut on Oct. 23 to help Dodd raise campaign cash.
