Jerry Girardi, Father of Yankees Manager Joe Girardi, Dies at 81

Jerry Girardi, the father of Yankees manager Joe Girardi, has died at the age of 81.
Girardi died at Snyder Village in Metamora, Ill. Saturday morning, according to the obituary posted on the site for Deiters Funeral Home in Peoria, Ill.
Funeral services for Girardi are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 15.
Joe Girardi has not publicly commented on his father's death. The Yankees are currently in the middle of the American League Division Series against the Orioles. They're set to play Game 4 in the Bronx Thursday night.
