It took 20 years, but boxing's coming back to the XL Center.

World Championship boxing is back in Hartford for the first time in 20 years. Undefeated, two-time light-heavyweight champion Chad Dawson and Glen Johnson will square off at the XL Center this November.

Dawson was born in South Carolina, but lived in New Haven for most of his life and attended James Hillhouse High School from 1996 to 2000.

Glen Johnson, a Jamaican-born boxer, lost his most recent title attempt to Dawson in 2008. He retained his WBC light-heavyweight title with a hard-earned unanimous decision over Johnson. The win was controversial, because many felt the scoring of the fight was unfair.

Both Dawson and Johnson will be in Hartford on Wednesday to announce the fight, which will be held  on Nov. 7 at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday.
