If the clown car's a-rockin, don't come a-knockin.

Perhaps that's what Miami Dolphins player Randy Starks was thinking last night when an officer knocked on the side door of his vehicle, according to the police report obtained by The Miami Herald.

The 25-year-old defensive end was driving a black freight-liner truck through Memorial Day Weekend traffic on Ocean Drive when the officer noticed 13 people piled into the four-person vehicle - one of them on his lap.

When the officer knocked on the window, Starks accelerated. When the officer knocked on the side door, Starks stopped but then accelerated and moved to the left, causing the vehicle to hit the officer and pin him against a vehicle in another lane.

Oops.

Turns out the license plate on the truck wasn't registered to that vehicle, and Starks was arrested and charged with aggravated battery

Starks was released from jail Sunday on $10,000 bond.

"We were only recently made aware of the situation," Harvey Greene, Senior Vice President of Media Relations told the Sun-Sentinel. "Since we are in the process of gathering information we have no comment."
