World's fastest man Usain Bolt will be honored in Hartford Monday night.
If you look quickly, you might catch a glimpse of the world's fastest man in Connecticut on Monday. Olympic Champion Usain Bolt is scheduled to appear at an event at the Cricket Hall of Fame in Hartford.
Bolt, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, set a world record in August for the 100-meter sprint with a time of 9.58 seconds, shattering his old world record of 9.69 seconds. He also holds the world record of 19.19 seconds in the 200 meter sprint.
Bolt, who is from Jamaica, is visiting a city with one of the largest West Indian populations in the country, according to a news release from Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez's office.
The mayor will present Bolt with a key to the city and a proclamation declaring the day "Usain Bolt Day" in Hartford.
The festivities get underway Monday at 7 p.m. at the Cricket Hall of Fame, 3000 Main St. in Hartford.
