Fiesta Time for UConn

The UConn Huskies woke up New Year's Day in Arizona with a chance to put a storybook ending on a magical year.

The team takes on the heavily-favored Oklahoma Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl Saturday night in Glendale, Arizona. Being in the game is the result of a five-game winning streak with wins over West Virginia, Pitt and South Florida.

Despite being underdogs, Coach Randy Edsall told NBC Connecticut's Kevin Nathan the team came to win. Edsall said it's not enough to just be in the game.

"That is the story of our life. We have been the underdog ever since we started this journey," Edsall said Friday, according to UConnHuskies.com. "I always think that anytime there is somebody who doubts you it just makes you play a little harder and prepare a little harder. Ultimately we need to be able to go out when the ball is kicked off and play to the best of our abilities and execute the best way we can. This situation really isn't any different than what we have been through the last 12 years," Edsall said.
