Kemba Nominated for SI Sportsman of the Year

Sports Illustrated write calls what Kemba did "legend."

The issues with the NBA have kept former UConn basketball star Kemba Walker from playing professional ball this year, but he’s still a star in the sports world.

His is one of Sports Illustrated’s nominees for Sportsman of the Year.

Kemba gained national recognition as he led the Huskies to a national win last season and SI writer Luke Winn calls what Kemba did during his last year at UConn “legend.”

“He put a young UConn team on his back and reeled off 11 straight wins in elimination games to take the NCAA title,” Winn writes, all while fixing an “unreliable” perimeter shot.

UConn basketball coach Jim Calhoun is also quoted in the article and called Kemba “the whole package.”

The big reveal happens next month.

What do you think? Will Kemba be on the cover?
