Huskies Get Presidential Seal of Approval

President Barack Obama did not include the UConn men in his Presidential Barack-et, but the UConn women made the cut.

"The president believes the University of Connecticut is a fine institution with a wonderful basketball program," Moira Muntz, a spokesman for the president, told the Hartford Courant.

Muntz told The Courant on Tuesday that No.1 UConn was President Obama’s choice to win the title. Tuesday night, the Huskies moved closer to the presidential prediction when they advanced to the Final Four.

On the men's side, after the POTUS picked second-seeded Memphis to beat UConn, the POTUC (President of the University of Connecticut) Michael Hogan sent Obama a letter in a bit of jest.

“I’ll bring the famous University of Connecticut Conn Men (an a cappella group) to the White House to sing for you the Memphis Fight Song, as well as their rendition of 'Hail to the Chief.'”

If UConn won, Hogan said he wanted Obama to be UConn’s commencement speaker and accept an honorary degree from the University in May of 2010.

We all know UConn is in the final four but there’s been no word on whether Air Force One will be landing in Storrs anytime soon.
