  • Stills has been one of the league’s most vocal players on social justice issues for several seasons.

One of the most outspoken players on the Miami Dolphins says he will continue to kneel during the national anthem in an effort to protest issues including police brutality, social injustice and “systematic oppression” across the country.

Wide receiver Kenny Stills posted the message on his Instagram page Sunday night, adding that he will continue to work on educating himself and others on social issues, including mentoring youths across the community as well as being an advocate for mental health.

The post mentioned Roc Nation, a group founded by rapper Jay-Z that recently signed a deal with the NFL that has been met with criticism from some prominent players.

“There is a great opportunity for this deal to have an impact and that’s the goal,” Stills wrote. “I will say that I don’t respect the way either party went about it. We can all work toward social justice without disparaging one another.”

Stills has been one of the league’s most vocal players on social justice issues for several seasons – and made headlines in recent weeks for his criticism of Dolphins owner Stephen Ross following a fundraiser held at the New York home of Ross raising money for the re-election campaign of President Donald Trump.
