Revis Slouches in Verbal War with Moss

When the New England Patriots face the Jets this Sunday at 4:15 at The Meadowlands, it will be the first face-to-face encounter between Randy Moss and Darrelle Revis since Revis' provocative "slouch" comments in January.

You may recall that NFL Network interview nine months back. You could watch it again online, but be warned you would have to sit through a lot of Deion Sanders.

Sanders played the old word association game with Revis. When Sanders said "Randy Moss", Revis replied with "Slouch".

Assume there has been a large red circle around September 19 on Randy Moss' calendar ever since.

"He's entitled to say what he wants to say, but then again, we're coming to the Meadowlands on Sunday," Moss said this week in a SportsCenter interview.  "You've got 60 minutes of this slouch, so I don't really get into the trash-talking, but if what he called me was a slouch, I guess the slouch will be there to see you on Sunday."

With that Sunday coming in a few days instead of nine months, Revis is fiddling with his statements like a New York Jet trying to name all his kids.

"I called him a slouch because I felt he played like a slouch (in the first 2009 Patriots-Jets game)," Revis told the Boston Herald. "They tried to come after me in the second game. He wasn’t a slouch in the second game."

"I’m expecting him to play his A-plus game," Revis told the Boston Globe. "I don’t expect anything less when I’m playing Randy."

So now that the slouch is coming to town, expect a lot less posturing from Darrelle Revis.
