The NFL has indefinitely suspended Cleveland Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth, who killed a pedestrian in Miami Beach while driving drunk.

In a letter to Stallworth, NFL commissioner Robert Goodell said Thursday the player's actions caused "irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL." He will not be paid while suspended.

The announcement comes just days after Stallworth was given the VIP treatment by the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office and sentenced to 30 days in jail for killing mario Reyes.

Stallworth pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter charge for striking Reyes on March 14 after a night of drinking on South Beach. He began serving his jail sentence Tuesday, but will likely be out before his month is up. Stallworth already reached a financial settlement with Reyes' family, which helped him escape the 15-year maximum sentence he faced if found guilty during a trail.

After jail, he must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation. The house arrest provisions would allow him to resume playing.

Many were outraged by the light sentence, which was called an injustice by the likes of national organizations like MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Leave it to the NFL and its no-nonsense commissioner to show the Miami-Dade justice system how it's done.
