President Obama says the undefeated Huskies are the team to beat in the NCAA tournament.
In case it wasn't official already, President Obama has made it so by picking the UConn women to take it all in San Antonio. The president filled out his selections and revealed them to ESPN.
The Huskies made the trip to the White House to meet President Obama last year. This year, they are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA women's basketball tournament, and with good reason. Geno Auriemma's squad has won an NCAA-record 72 straight games.
The Huskies will open the tournament in Norfolk, Virginia with a game against Southern. But many are predicting and looking forward to a renewal of the most heated rivalry in women's college basketball.
There is a possibility of a match-up with Pat Summitt's Tennessee Lady Vols. Both teams would have to make it through their regions and could meet up in the final four.
Despite the Huskies 72 straight wins, none of them have come against Tennessee. The two teams broke off their annual matchup in 2007.
Stanford and Nebraska are the other No. 1 seeds in the bracket.
The Huskies begin their road to the Final Four on Sunday at 12:15 p.m.
