Gonzalez, scored a pivotal goal in the game that guaranteed Team USA a spot in the Olympics. She was a two-time All American at UConn. This is her first Olympic appearance.

Something to watch for the field hockey games is creating a buzz in London. For the first time in Olympic history, field hockey is being played on a blue field. In hopes of making the game easier to watch for spectators, the decision was made to change from green turn and a white ball to blue turf and a yellow ball.
