UConn Title Teams Contribute to Basketball Art Exhibit

The University of Connecticut already proudly displays 13 NCAA basketball championship banners and it's getting to hang a few more items related to that sport.

The school's William Benton Museum of Art is opening an exhibit this month, titled “In the Paint: Basketball in Contemporary Art,” which will feature 22 basketball-related paintings, photographs and sculptures, including a pair of paintings made by the school's NCAA championship basketball teams.

The pieces range from humorous to thought provoking. Two of the paintings were made by the school's men's and women's basketball teams who dribbled balls doused with paint onto canvases.

The exhibit runs January 23 to March 29.
