UConn's Kaleena-Mosqueda Lewis Sets NCAA Record

UConn's Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis has broken the NCAA Division I record for career 3-pointers during the Huskies' regional final against Dayton.

The senior guard came into the game with 388, but made five of her first seven attempts from behind the arc to set the mark with 393.

Her shot from the left wing with 16:15 left was her fourth and gave the Huskies a 52-44 lead. She broke the record with a shot from left of the key that gave the Huskies a 62-49 lead with 12:32 left in the game.

The former record of 392 had been held jointly by Laurie Koehn of Kansas State, who set the mark in 2005, and Heather Butler of Tennessee-Martin, who tied it last season.

Mosqueda-Lewis also leads the nation in 3-point shooting, hitting better than 49 percent of her shots from behind the arc.
