U.S. Women's Hockey Team Defeats Switzerland

The U.S. women’s hockey team, led by some local Olympians, has defeated Switzerland, 9 to 0.  

Some former stars from Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford contributed with some big plays.

Hilary Knight had an assist around 10 minutes into the first period. Then she scored a goal, assisted by another local athlete, Julie Chu, of Fairfield.  

Josephine Pucci, who also attended Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, had an assist in the third period.

Two other athletes with Connecticut ties were on the ice for Switzerland.

Phoebe Stanz also attended Choate and is currently a freshman for Yale.

Jessica Lutz, who arrended UConn, is also on the Swiss team.

The U.S. team will play again on Wednesday morning. The team takes on Canada.
