Unable to get along with Apple's iPhone, Verizon and Google have rebounded by consummating a marriage together.
The wireless provider and the tech giant announced on Tuesday they would work together to develop mobile phones using Google's Android software. While no specific phones were announced by Tuesday afternoon Verizon had already placed a picture of Google's HTC Hero on its website.
Analysts say the move is a direct shot at Apple's relationship with AT&T and the two companies said almost as much in a release without specifically naming the iPhone.
Wireless providers Sprint and T-Mobile already host phones running Google's Android software.
