It's back by popular demand! Join us at the NBC Connecticut Paper Shredding Event on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Westfarms Mall across from J.C. Penney at 1500 New Britain Ave in West Hartford.
American Eagle Federal Credit Union is the proud sponsor of this Earth Week event.
Shredding your old documents is good the environment... and it's the best way to protect your identity. We'll shred up to five boxes of your old documents for free.
Why Shred? To prevent consumer fraud and identity theft.
What to Shred? We are providing FREE and secure destruction of confidential documents such as old checks, tax returns, financial statements, medical records, legal documents, etc.
What happens to the destroyed documents? The destroyed documents, in the form of confetti-sized pieces, are transferred directly to a recycling facility. Once there, they return to the marketplace in the form of items such as recycled household paper products.
How much will it cost? The event is being held free of charge through a partnership between NBC Connecticut and Shred-It. Learn more about Shred-It here.
Comcast Cares Day Info The Paper Shredding Event is part of Comcast Cares Day, a Comcast and NBCUniversal initiative that brings more than 60,000 volunteers to community projects around the country each year. Find out more information here.
