Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- organic lemons (zest too)
- cup basil chopped
Method:
Zest lemons and set aside. Squeeze lemons for juice. Place water, sugar, lemon juice, and zest in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer for 2 minutes. Transfer to a shallow pan and cool to room temp for 30 minutes. Stir in chopped basil. Place pan in freezer. Sir mixture and flake with fork every 30 minutes for 3 hours until light and fluffy.
Suggested Serving:
- Spoon granita into glass with sprig of basil
- Serve with your favorite local spirit
- Serve with fresh fruit
- Use as an intermezzo or dessert
