Cobb Salad

Bob Cobb, then owner of The Brown Derby in Hollywood, is credited with creating the salad.

  • 1 package romaine hearts, chopped
  • ½ cup to 1 cup French dressing
  • 1 avocado, pitted and cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 3 plum tomatoes, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 6 strips of bacon, chopped
  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and chopped
  • 3 eggs, hard boiled and chopped
  • ½ cup crumbled blue cheese

Place the greens on a platter.

Line the avocado, tomato, bacon, chicken, eggs and blue cheese in strips on top of the greens.

Serve the dressing on the side or toss right before serving.
