    J.W. Stewart joined the NBC Connecticut sports team in January of 2014 after 12 years at ESPN.

    During his time at "The Worldwide Leader in Sports," J.W. demonstrated his versatility by hosting a variety of shows – SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight, NBA Fastbreak, College Gameday Scoreboard, College Basketball Final and ESPNEWS. J.W. also appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" and "World News This Morning."

    Prior to joining ESPN, J.W. worked as a sports anchor/reporter for Sports 1 Regional Television in New York's mid-Hudson Valley. There, he covered two Division I programs (Marist and Army) plus minor league baseball and local high schools.

    After graduating Marist College in 1993, J.W. worked as a sports writer and columnist for the Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal. He covered the Yankees, Mets, Jets and Giants plus the 1996 World Series.

    In 2012, the American Lung Association bestowed the prestigious Emily Bissell Award to J.W. in appreciation of his continued commitment and support in the fight against lung disease.

    A native of Middletown, R.I., J.W. lives in Burlington with his wife Carol.
