With the grilling season in full swing, we thought we would add some spin to our summer favorites. Since being healthy is in and our diets are always on our minds, ground turkey is a great option for backyard cookouts.

Makes six kielbasa patties.

Turkey Kielbasa Patties

  • 1 package ground turkey, about 20 ounces
  • 1/2 cup minced red onion
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. dry marjoram
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp. cold water
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. kosher salt
  • ½ cup finely ground, plain bread crumbs

Preheat the grill. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground turkey, minced red onion, paprika, mustard, marjoram, Worcestershire sauce, cold water, brown sugar and kosher salt.

Add the bread crumbs and incorporate well.

Divide the mixture into six equal balls, then form into a 1-inch thick patty.

Place on a hot grill and cook each side for two minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Place on toasted rolls then serve with grilled vegetables and spicy mustard.
