Kristen Johnson is a reporter for NBC Connecticut. She can be seen weekend mornings as well as throughout the week on NBC Connecticut.
Kristen loves telling stories that people will still be talking about the next day. She believes that the power of a good story can make a difference in our lives and looks forward to sharing that with the audience.
One of her most memorable moments of her career was covering Iowa’s first in the nation caucus in 2008 and 2012, interviewing more than a dozen presidential candidates over the years. Kristen will never forget the unforgettable and unique opportunity to meet the candidates in person and conduct sit-down interviews with them about the issues that were important to voters.
Before calling Connecticut home, Kristen was a weekend anchor and producer for KTIV, the NBC affiliate in Sioux City, Iowa. She has earned an Emmy for Best Weekend Newscast and has also received numerous awards from the Iowa Broadcast News Association for reporting.
When she’s not reporting, Kristen loves to travel with her husband Josh and daughter Samantha, exploring parts of New England. As a Midwest girl, she’s still exploring and scoping out the best place to go in Connecticut. If you have a favorite place to visit she would love to hear from you!
