He needs to take it a step further, interact with these cats, keep them wanting a human's touch and utilitize CRAIGSLIST advertising these cats under the FREE section, not pet section (being wary of those who want to take all of them...pet labs are paying now a days) People cause feril felines, it is no fault of the cats. In this economy people are just walking away from their homes in foreclosure and leaving these housepets behind due to lack of human responsibility. I recently went through a problem with a cat that had been abandoned, it strayed into my home (in the same neighborhood no less) when I was letting my dogs in. Now, I am one that is allergic to felines but once I saw she was expecting kittens I kept her till the kittens were born and were old enough and litter trained to find homes. Yes, the Meriden Humane Society was full when I visisted there so I took the family of felines back home. Due to my allergies I was unable to let them run free in my home, they no longer would stay to the 4 season porch area. I put them in a indoor rabbit hutch with everything for their needs (food water daily, changed small litter pan daily). During the day there were caged outside for fresh air and inside in 4 season porch area (still being allergic to feline of course). I took it upon myself as a true animal lover to make sure these felines were treated properly. I endured many no shows wasting my time waiting around the house for them when I could have been shopping, but thanx to "free" on craigslist and a cheap digital camera all have found homes, and from the length of time I spent with each adoptor, I feel safe in saving GOOD LOVING HOMES! If this man doesn't want the cats there STOP FEEDING THEM...let them stray to another area. I guess you would prefer that I do nothing and let these poor cats wonder and infect and multiply in other neighborhoods. Now that's the kind of neighbor I want. Only looking out for ones self. I am trying to stop the spread of unwanted cats to other parts of the community. Because of my actions, the town is now working with it's attorneys to try to come up with an ordinace so this kind of thing won't happen again. Because of this publicity, we were able to get help and trap 8 cats, have them fixed and find living arrangements. When the gentleman who had the cats were alive, we gave him information on the spay and neuter program and he refuse to do anything. He was summoned by the city and they did nothing to follow up. I was one of the few people who didn't try to pass the problem onto someone else, I tried to fix it."}],"error":"","totPages":1}
