Some Connecticut parks will be going to the dogs this week -- high flying, frisbee-catching dogs.

This weekend, two Hyperflite Skyhoundz Local Championships will be held in Connecticut. A third later will be held later this month.

The World Canine Disc Championship Series consists of local competitions, U.S. Regional Qualifiers, Open Qualifiers, an ever growing number of International Qualifiers and the World Championships.

The East Hartford "Top Dog" will be crowned Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at East Hartford High School and Branford's champ will be crowned Saturday, May 9 at Youngs Pond Park, on Route 146.

The Yankee Flyers Two Day Disc Dogathon will begin at 11a.m. on Saturday, May 23 at Wickham Park in Manchester.

Don't worry if your pooch is not practiced in the art of frisbee fetching. All the Hyperflite Skyhoundz Local Championships are free and open to all competitors regardless of experience.
