The boss was back in Hartford. Bruce Springsteen took the stage at a sold-out XL Center Friday and performed in front of fans who have been coming to his concerts for years.

"My parents take us to all these shows. For ten years we've been doing this, as many shows as we can, it's great," said Courtney Elias, who made the trip from Danbury.

They came to see the man that made "Glory Days" a staple and say his show never disappoints.

"The energy from the band. E Street band is just absolutely incredible," said Howie Elias.

The thousands in the XL Center meant extra people in downtown Hartford, and the restaurants cashed in.

"It's fantastic. It means the world to us downtown, because when you have big show in town it's the trickle down effect. It reaches everyone, all the bars, all the restaurants, everyone's busy," said Johnny Vaughan, owner of Vaughan's Public House in Hartford.

Restaurants were open for the before show dinner crowd and after the show for those who wanted to finish the night with a drink.

"It's so convenient just to go right down the street from the show. We can get out of here, walk half a block, we're there. After the show come back get something to eat another round," said Craig Scoville of Stamford.

It really gave a boost to the Hartford economy, one that surpassed the typical Friday night crowd.
