Connecticut horror movie fans have been scared lately. More than 20 states throughout the country will get to see a free pre-screening of “The Haunting in Connecticut” Wednesday, but not Connecticut!
That is what the official Facebook page of the horror film says -- but wait!, -- what they did not tell you is that there is one location in Connecticut that will be pre-screening the anticipated film.
A Thursday night pre-screening at the AMC Lowes in Plainville is sold-out, but 96.5 WTIC-FM, who is sponsoring the event, will be giving out their last 10 pairs of tickets for the screening today.
Atlanta, Baltimore, Columbus, Dallas and Memphis are just some of the 24 cities that are listed on the Haunting for Connecticut Facebook page to screen the fright movie for free on Wednesday night throughout the country.
Break Media, which is co-sponsoring the free screening with Lions Gate Films, said they were looking into why they listed no screenings in Connecticut, and Lions Gate Films has not returned a call for comment.
The sight of no Connecticut listing sent residents into a frenzy on the social networking page.
Facebook fan Tracy, wrote, “i find it funny that The haunting in CONNECTICUT isn't actually doing the free screening anywhere in CONNECTICUT itself. dumb.”
Christina wrote, “that is absolutely MESSED UP!!! How can you show an advanced screening in anything but Connecticut?? Pathetic honestly!!!!”
“The Haunting in Connecticut” is based on the “true” story of some peculiar events that occurred in a Southington home some 20 years ago.
Here is a description of the movie:
“When the Campbell family moves to upstate Connecticut, they soon learn that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner’s clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover. Now unspeakable terror awaits, when Jonah, the boy who communicated with the powerful dark forces of the supernatural, returns to unleash a new kind of horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family.”
