Singer Dar Williams, a Wesleyan alum, will headline a concert to benefit the Johanna Justin-Jinich Memorial Scholarship, named for the woman shot and killed on campus earlier this month.
When students at Wesleyan University gather for graduation and alums return for reunions this weekend, the topic of Johanna Justin-Jinich’s murder May 6 and the ensuing search for the shooter will surely be front of mind.
The exciting Spring Weekend shows were cancelled as Stephen Morgan’s journal scrawls – “ I think it’s ok to kill Jews and go on a killing spree” – locked down most of the campus community during the first week of May.
Not to worry. The school is getting back on track this weekend with a benefit concert dedicated to Johanna Justin-Jinich, who was in the class of 2010.
Singer/songwriter Dar Williams (Wesleyan class of ’89) will perform at the school’s Memorial Chapel with all proceeds going to the Johanna Justin-Jinich Memorial Scholarship.
Tickets are $25, and can be purchased here.
