Cocktails for a cause? We're there.

The weather's about to clear up so clear out your calendar for an early start to the weekend and celebrate the return of the sun with some cocktails!

Check out "Cocktails for the Kate" at the Back Porch in Old Saybrook.  You'll get to enjoy great drinks and browse the latest fashions and it's all for a good cause.  All proceeds will benefit the refurbished Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center due to open in August.

If cocktails and art isn't your thing, try "Cocktails with the Whales".  Enjoy drinks, food and live music in the warm evening air at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration.  Ocean Blue Catering hosts the event.  Reservations are recommended.  Call (860) 572-5955 for more information.

If music is more your thing, check out the Connecticut Blues Society Band Challenge at Black-eyed Sally's BBQ & Blues in Hartford.   The winner of this event will travel to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge in January of 2010.  Of course, you will have heard them first!
