The New York Yankees came to town in 1903 as the Highlanders, after spending two years in Baltimore as the original Orioles. They officially became the Yankees a decade later, and went on to have more players enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame and win more titles than any other team in American sports history. Since acquiring Babe Ruth ahead of the 1919 season, they've won 26 World Series and field such all-time greats as Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. This year, the Bronx Bombers move into their new Yankee Stadium.
