The UConn Men's Basketball team has won the National Championship two times, in 1999 and 2004, and is considered one of the most elite and successful programs in college sports.  It all started just prior to the 1986-87 season, when UConn hired Jim Calhoun to be the program's new head coach. Since his arrival, the UConn men have steadily built success upon success, starting with an NIT Championship in 1988. They won their first Big East Championship in 1990, in their so-called "Dream Season."  The Huskies have won or shared the Big East regular season title a record 10 times and the Big East Tournament Title 6 times.

  • NAME Let them play eachother and we'll see who the better team is. The question isn't a relative question, it is absolute. Had it asked who dominates their opposition more I'd have given it to the women. Tuesday, Apr 7 at 10:08 PM
  • NAME Its easy to say when they have no real competition. There is no parity in women's basketball. The men are consistently solid. Tuesday, Apr 7 at 6:15 PM
