11/4: Musical Experiences

KISS THE SKY:  He was one of the greatest musicians to ever grace a stage.  Sadly, Jimi Hendrix was lost too soon.  But his music lives on.  And tonight, you can "Experience Hendrix" live at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods.  Some of the best known, and highly regarded names in music will pay tribute to Jimi, from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang and Steve Vai to Living Colour and Chris Layton of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.  Tickets are $20-$45.  The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

MR. LEE:  He comes from the mold of pop singer/songwriters like Jonathan Richman and Ben Folds.  Tonight in Fairfield, you can catch the catchy, sweetly romantic, poetically upbeat Ben LeeLee truly shines when he's alone onstage with his guitar.  And that's just what you'll find tonight at Fairfield Theatre Company at StageOne. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

ROCK BUFFET:  It's time for another installment of quality indie rock at rock bottom prices.  Head to The Space in Hamden tonight to check out four bands for just $10.  The evening's entertainment includes The Ghost Is Alive And Well.  The four piece Vernon-based band takes their influence from bands like Arcade Fire.  Also on the menu is Half Ecstatic, an instrumental guitar/drums duo, The Static Rising, who plays psychedelic Krautrock and indie-pop group Bone Gunn.  The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
