12/2: Dinner and Some Movies

IT'S CHOWDAH!:  Who says you can only get good seafood in the summertime? Head to the U.S.S. Chowder Pot for their Lobster & Shrimp fest.  The restaurant (with locations in Hartford and Branford) is offering some great deals on some great meals.  For example, you can get a two pound lobster steamed or stuffed for less than $27 or the big boys (two and a half pounds or larger) for $11 per pound.  There are also daily shrimp specials (hence the name) to whet your appetite.

TIME TO PARTY (TUPPERWARE STYLE):  The hit off-Broadway comedy "Dixie's Tupperware Party" is making a stop in New London at the Garde Arts Center.  See for yourself how fast-talking Ms. Dixie Longate became the world's #1 Tupperware seller.  The show is playing in the center's intimate Oasis Room through Sunday, December 6.  Most shows are at 7:30, but there are some weekend matinees.  Tickets are $40.  Be ready for audience participation!

HAPPENING WHODUNIT:  Who shot Andy Warhol?  That's the premise of "POP!," playing tonight at the Yale Repertory Theatre.  Drag Queen Candy Darling hosts the musical mystery, in which the pop icon is popped.  But an even bigger mystery is unraveled, when Warhol himself confronts not only the prime suspects, but also his art and himself.  The show runs through December 19.  Tickets are $10 for tonight's 8 p.m. show, which is a preview performance.  The show officially opens Thursday and tickets are $25-$67.
