YEAH, BUT HAVE YOU READ THE BOOK?: Its a classic novel, but tonight, "Catch-22" is being transformed for the stage. The play is being shown at the Dressing Room Theatre in Stamford. Curtain Call is presenting the adaptation of Joseph Heller's darkly comic novel about the absurdity of war, and its impact on society (too bad it doesn't apply today right?). Catch-22 is being shown with Cabaret-style seating through Sunday. Tickets are $26. 8pm.
TO BE OR WHEREFORE ART THOU?: William Shakespeare (or for our purposes tonight, Bill Shakes) is one of the most revered playwrights and poets of all-time. From his comedies, to the tragedies, histories and all those sonnets, Shakespeare has enough material to fill a grad-student's cinder block bookshelf. But in West Hartford tonight, you can see the ultimate abbreviated version of the Bard. "Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" is playing right now at Playhouse on Park. The whirlwind production combines all of Shakespeare's works and is performed by three frenzied actors, with some much needed help from the audience. Tickets are $22.50-$32.50.
