4/7: Your Evening UnFolds

WHAT ABOUT THE FIVE?:  Ben Folds, erstwhile of Ben Folds Five, is making a stop in Connecticut tonight, and he's bringing his piano with him.  Folds, who's made a name for himself with a unique style that sets him apart from the singer/songwriter mold.  Tonight you can see Mr. Folds at the Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport.  Tickets for tonight's show are $37.50.  8pm.

BACON FOR A CAUSE:  Lord knows Kevin Bacon has had his share of success.  Tonight Bacon and his band (the aptly titled Bacon Brothers) are giving a little back.  Get footloose with the brothers for a special benefit concert tonight at Infinity Music Hall in Norfolk.  Proceeds from the show will benefit the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti (through the American Red Cross).  Tickets for the show are a bit steep, starting at $100, but hey, it's a good cause that's starting to disappear from the headlines.  If you're feeling extra generous, $20 will get you a meet and greet with the band (but those tickets are limited).  8pm.

ROSES ARE RED:  Broaden your literary horizons tonight at UConn's Torrington campus.  A poetry reading is in the offing.  Rhode Island's poet laureate, Lisa Starr will join Davyne Verstandig as they read their poetry and prose.  The event is the finale of UConn's annual Creative Sustenance program, which raises awareness about, and money for the hungry and homeless.  The suggested donation for the evening is $5.  6:30pm-9pm.
