6/24: Glam Rock and Ping Pong

ON THE LAMBert: He's everyone's favorite glam-rock American Idol runner up of all time. Tonight, Adam Lambert brings his live "Glam Nation Tour," to Connecticut, and the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Lambert hasn't missed a beat since he lost out to Kris Allen on season 8 of Idol, with his debut album debuting at #3 on the Billboard charts, and his single, "Whataya Want From Me," became a #1 hit. Tonight's show is at 8 p.m. Tickets will run you $40 to $65.

KING PONG: Do you have what it takes to be the ping-pong master? Strut your skills tonight at Vaughan's in downtown Hartford.  The Public House is hosting a ping-pong competition to anyone brave enough to enter. The best four participants will earn a chance to compete against winners from other bars at the championships at City Place in July. The winners of that championship will get an awesome prize package and, of course, bragging rights. It's $10 to enter (with proceeds benefiting the Arthritis Foundation). The pings start ponging at 8 p.m.

FREE-DOM: Singer Janine Nichols is bringing her trio, "Semi-Free" to New Haven tonight, as part of the International Festival of Arts and Ideas. Nichols, guitarist Brandon Ross and violinist/bassist Charlie Burnham will hit the Elm Street Stage on the Green to play original songs mixed in with tunes from Robin Holcomb, Nick Cave and Vic Chesnutt.  The free show starts at 6:30 p.m.
