7/6: Art Through Music and Comedy

STING LIKE A BEE: Ever since his days with The Police, Sting has been one of the most popular artists in music. Tonight, see him like you never have before. He'll take to the stage at Mohegan Sun, along with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Hear some tracks from Sting's latest album "If On a Winter's Night...," as well as new takes some of his classic tracks like "Roxanne," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "Desert Rose" and more. Tickets are $85 and $114. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

PULL UP A COUCH: Steve Solomon's "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish..." shows have been making audiences laugh for years. Tonight, the latest incarnation of his critically acclaimed comedies hits the stage in New Haven at the Long Wharf Theatre. The all new edition "My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish and I’m Still in Therapy," brings the audience to Solomon's wacky childhood and takes them on a journey about growing up, mixed marriages, ex-wives, pets, dieting and anything else that's funny because it's true. Tickets to the show, which runs through July 18, are $40. The chaos ensues at 8 p.m.

ALL THAT JAZZ: Star of stage and screen, Ben Vereen (hey, that rhymed!), is performing in Connecticut tonight as part of Hartford Stage's Summer Series. An Evening with Ben Vereen will pay tribute to Broadway legends past. The show, which runs through Sunday, uses Vereen's talents to pay homage to the likes of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. Click here for more info.
