8/19: Thursday Music Remix

PUCKER UP: There's not much we can say about KISS that hasn't already been said a thousand times, so we'll just say this -- The painted ones are coming to Connecticut tonight. The band is promoting "Sonic Boom," its first album in 11 years with a show at Mohegan Sun. Tickets are $75 and $95 (seems reasonable for a KISS show, no?) The fireworks get underway at 6:30 p.m.

STRANGERS ON A BUS: She's responsible for one of the best one-hit-wonders of all time. Tonight, we're guessing Joan Osborne (no relation to Ozzy) will play more than her '90s hit "One of Us" when she takes the stage for an intimate concert Infinity Hall in Norfolk. In fact, over the years, she's become one of the most respected singers in music. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $55 and $75.

ROCKIN' THE MIC: A pair of veteran emcees are bringing their hip-hop skills to  Bridgeport tonight. New Jersey's Foul Mouth Jerk and TopR will hit the stage at the Acoustic Cafe. The duo will harken back to the glory days of hip-hop before it got commercialized in the '90s. The show starts at 9 p.m.
